I acquired the bases of my extensive knowledge via scientific method through my Asian subject-specific Bachelor and Master studies. In addition, I get the remainder of my relevant knowledge through independent further training. Also, my personal contacts and my numerous stays in Asia facilitate the up-to-date knowledge I posses.
I have gone multiple times for several months, sometimes nearly a year, in Japan, China, and Vietnam. There I visited local high schools and universities. I conducted two autonomous field researches in the social environment and did an internship in the local language at a regional organisation in Hanoi. I spent nearly all my stays with host families. I used my free time to integrate myself into the local living environment and the way of thinking. On one hand I internalized the practical and cultural aspects of the society, while on the other hand I became acquainted with the political, economic, social and technical structures. I acquired comprehensive knowledge about several neighbouring Asian countries through scientific studies and intimate contact with the natives of their respective countries. Lastly, my Asian wife provides profound and in-depth insights of the traditional way of living.
